I am currently a product marketing intern with Dell, Inc. in Austin, TX. My internship has been heavily focused around data-driven marketing and analytics. I really enjoy it, and would love some advice on how I can better position myself for a career in marketing within the tech industry space.
A little about me:
I am a US Army Intelligence Officer with over 6 years of service. I have experience with data analysis and looking at trends from this role. Through my internship I am also working on an advanced web and data analytics certification that focuses on analytics in the tech industry, how to use it to make business decisions and how to use products like google digital studio and tableau. I have a bachelors degree in business management and am currently pursuing my MBA.
I would also love to hear of any ways to network around the Austin area related to this field.
Any advice on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Chelsea, There are a lot of opportunities within the cloud computing/managed services path. A large number of companies are now starting up, are established and have the need for Marketing visibility. The Tech Industry is always trying to "one up" each other in visibility, who has the best outreach programs for potential clients, trade shows, etc. I can only speak for what is going on in Massachusetts, but this area is on fire with Tech companies, opportunities and the need to have your product and services out front, looking better than the others and highly visible across all media types. Would you consider that "Marketing"? Your credentials and experience are sought after. Take a look in the Boston area - yeah - it's cold in the winter but on fire with opportunities.
