Hello,
Does anyone know of strong volunteer opportunities that a company can get behind? I am the regional lead for my firm's veteran's group (based in Chicago) and would like to identify some strong volunteer opportunities that would support veterans.
Thank you,
Joe

What does the company want to influence? I mean there are plenty of good nation wide groups but if you are looking more local then I'd look locally. That might sound obvious but if your company is a local small business, I'd focus on those groups that have an impact in your area and in your business area of interest. I like Team RWB since it has local chapters and is a great way to start. As far as Chicago, are there some good organizations that are having an impact?
Look into the local chapter of team red, white and blue as well as team rubicon. They are consistently doing veteran focused activities. If you can't get any traction, email me and I will see if I can get you a regional contact.
Combat Veterans to Careers is an excellent support group helping vets get jobs. Do not believe you can go wrong with them.
