Good Evening, I have been invited to attend a delegation on business and entrepreneurship in Australia in may. This looks and sounds like a great opportunity to take advantage of. There is a need to raise $3000 dollars by April 17 and I am looking for advice on fundraising. Any ideas that can be provided are helpful. Thank you in advance.

I agree with Ms. Carlson. When I was in Australia, the government was looking desperately for skilled workers such as welders, carpenters, etc. The offer was a great pay scale and a huge amount of acreage. This was in the 70s of course, but I don't think the cash upfront is a good idea. Google it and use the word "scam" in the search. Good Luck!

Playing devil's advocate here - please use caution when any group asks for funds up front to help launch a business because there are many scams. In contrast, the start up community in metro areas is exploding.

Denver Start Up Week, for example, is a free event "Since 2012, the most creative and well-connected innovators from Colorado and beyond have come together for a week of learning, discussion, networking, and more. In 2013, 5,500+ startup community members and over 650 companies engaged in over 125 community-driven events all with the goal of celebrating everything entrepreneurial in the Mile High City."

I don't know too much about fundraising other than I know that GoFundMe is a resource. Just wanted to say congratulations on your invitation!! WOW! :)

Good Morning Charles. Fundraising has actually become quite a bit easier. There are crowdfunding sites available now such as GoFundMe. I'm afraid I don't have any personal experience, but I understand they are easy to set up. Good luck to you!
