Hello! I'm interested in courses in foreign languages or language schools for veterans. These courses are organized under the program of NATO in Europe for veterans. Courses supervised by British Council. Is there a similar program in the United States? Where do I get more information? Thanks you.

Hi Oleg,
Thank you for your service in our U.S. Navy!
I don't know of official programs available, but there is a superb on-line (free) site offering up to 40 levels of various languages (French, Spanish, English, Italian and Latin and ???)
It's freerice.org
At the least, you can really build up a good basis for mastering a new language. It's pretty neat that for every right answer you get, a grain or rice appears on a virtual little wood plate by your name, and some global organization actually donates that sum of rice, with those earned by others to places in need.
I've topped out in Spanish, French and now decided to do Latin. There are so many little courses there, ranging from Math, Science, Literature, Art., etc. All free.
Also, MANY universities now offer their curriculum for free on-line, and some very distinguished places, at that. One doesn't get a "degree", from them, but one can keep their own virtual transcript of completed coursework.
Hope this proves helpful, and thank you again.
Sincerely,
Kate
