Seems like email would be a decent alternative for now.
A more high-tech solution would be to get a free Dropbox account (www.dropbox.com) and upload your resume to Dropbox. They'll let you create a link that you can share anywhere. So you could send that in a PM.

Just drag and drop a file, copy the unique link, then send the link via private message (files are stored for 7 days and deleted). It's free.
