I separated from the Marine Corps in February of 2011. The first ten months went great, landed a job as a retail supervisor, and was on my way to manager. I was also attending college, and everything was going well. Then my house of cards came crashing at the end of the year, and I ended up in the Dallas VA with suicidal thoughts and no clue what was wrong with me. Fast forward to today, because I had to drop that semester two years ago, my failure in one of my classes led to me getting dropped from school. I no longer have income and need to figure something out fast. I am hoping there is a job out there somewhere for me before my financial situation gets completely out of my hands. If anyone out there is hiring in the Fort Worth, Texas area, I am in desperate need of a job. Thank you, and I hope someone out there is in a position to help.

I am currently a student at UTD, but looking forward to graduation in May I dropped by the Work Force Solution Office in McKinney to inquire about future job opening. The Veterans rep helped in creating a online profile for their websites, and they have even contacted me in the past week for interviews. The one in the Fort Worth area is

Would there ever be a situation where you had to let a potential employer know you had PTSD? I would say that is none of their business.
Michael, first thing is to make sure you find a mentor that understands the conditions and depth of PTSD. Not everyone is able to understand the dynamics of working with these types of emotional ups and downs. As a life coach educated in strategic intervention coaching, I've worked with veterans in this situation and spent time at the VA some time ago dealing with it.
Your urgent need is to have a veteran mentor with career development expertise.
I would strongly suggest you go ahead and first look at the suggestion Zeke mentioned to visit the Workforce agency to help get you in touch with someone right in your area. That will get you on the right path and then help you get some clarity on your next step.

The first thing that you have to do is ask yourself "What do I want to do?". Look at the local employment opportunities and see if there is something that you may be interested in.
Please, please do not let the college degree stop you. If you can show relative experience to a potential employer, they may overlook that.
