I started my financial planning/advisor business this summer and now that I have gotten that business off the ground, i am looking at resuming my project management career while maintaining my financial business as a side project.
Any advice on Project Management role opportunities and/or combining a full time career with a side project.

I’d suggest that you network at the target company or industry. Use LinkedIn to find people already working there and reach out to them. Ask them the process they used to get hired and ask them to help you navigate the hiring process and if they are willing, ask them to submit you as a referral. These activities require much more time on your part but in my opinion would greatly increase your chances for success. Good luck!
Hi John - That is a great plan to combine both career interests. In my project management experience, there are companies that have openings for Finance/Revenue Project Managers. This role marries core skills such as Financial Planning/Analysis, Budget Management and Team Leadership.
I utilize the PMI.org website to further grow in my PM skills but it also has a great component on the financial aspect of projects. Please let me know if you would like further assistance.
Kind Regards,
Angela
Hi John,
Happy Veterans Day!
Thank you so much for your question.
We would suggest to scroll through our "Community/Advisors" tab and search specifically for advisors with "project management" expertise (https://acp-advisornet.org/community/advisors) is the exact address.
From there, you can directly message someone you think has a fitting background.
Good luck and let us know if you have any difficulties!
All the best,
Maria
