I recently retired as an USAF Reservist and left my DoD Contractor position last year, and recently found that my clearances are no longer valid. I know I am good with my SECRET until 2021 and when I left my contract position my TS/SCI was about to be adjudicated. Does anyone know a point of contact in the government to fix my clearance? I got no help from my former employer and my past Security Managers are limited to what they see in JPAS. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated as it is hindering my search for a new position.

Nolan,
I would not state that I have a clearance unless it is a fact, and you already know that it is not. Pause and give it some thought, you are applying for a position that requires TS/SCI and you intentionally state otherwise.
Let's see, first is the credit check, second is a scan of social media and related. Investigator somehow ends up here and is presented with all of the above...
I would state the facts, "expired on or about MMYY" and if your skills are in demand, they should not have any issues investing in the time and resources in the incremental update.
Happy hunting!
Sir,
Thank you for the advice. I have applied to several positions and was not considered because I found my clearance is not valid. However I am pushing forward and trying to break into other industries that do not require a clearance. Appreciate the timeliness of your advice.

I think there is nothing you can do to retain your security clearance without a job that requires that clearance. If you were having your PRI and about to get/keep the SCI when you left, you may have lucked out and it carried through and was approved at some point around when or after you left your last position.
But if they found out you left the position, they would’ve been making a big mistake if they granted your clearance knowing you didn’t have the job.
I would suggest applying for any position indicating you have the clearance, and if it is found out that you don’t, perhaps it is only a formality to complete the PRI to activate your clearance.
