I am a junior System Administrator on a contract for the Department of Defense. I am curious about the direction my learning needs to take to make me a more valuable asset. Should I look towards AWS certifications? Should I begin to develop an affinity with tools like Powershell or languages like Python? Should I look more towards cybersecurity and look at things like the CASP certification? I do hold some basic CompTia certs - Security+, Server+, Network+, however, I am looking to forge a career path and can't focus on everything.

I know as a Technology Manager, I look for diverse training, but focused. Don't try to get ALL the letters after your name, focus on what you are good at. Good knowledge of two programming languages and infrastructure support experience are what make a good Full Stack developer. AWS is always portable and desirable. An example of the background of my last hire:
- Experience with Java & Python
- Experience moving an application from private network to AWS
- Could answer detailed technical questions and think on their feet.
- Had the ability to tell the story of how they "got" to a technical solution
I hope this helps and let me know if you have any follow up questions.
