Traditionally where has BP integrated US Veterans, upstream or downstream? Within the Americas or abroad?
Answers
Hi Vaughn, I absolutely agree with Candace & Jayne's sentiments. I happen to manage a Military Placement Program for BP's Trading & Shipping team, and we're actually part of midstream with a team in Chicago, Houston & London that provides support for participants that join our 12-month placement program. We had just begun the recruiting efforts for this year's roles, but then we were forced to postpone those efforts due to COVID 19. Feel free to message me with any additional questions about the program. I'm happy to answer any questions that you have. Hope that helps!
hi Vaughn!
I would add to Candace's answer to let you know that BP is very supportive of veterans and has a business resource group dedicated to vets. It's a great way to network and get to know other vets within BP.
Hi Vaughn! I would say the BP hiring process is based on meritocracy, meaning we hire based on skills and qualifications so any vet has the same opportunity for a job opening across BP global. In addition, several businesses within BP have specialized veteran programs. In the UK - these are typically geared toward UK vets and in the US, US vets. There are relocation programs available on a job by job basis; however, BP does tend to prioritize hiring from direct communities in which they operate versus expat or relocation.
