Hi Jazz, thank you for your military service. Could you be a bit more descriptive in what industry or industries you are interested in exploring? From your bio I see you have a culinary degree and are also interested in security/corrections - are these the two current areas you would like to pursue further?
Historically the culinary world has always been highly competitive even before the recent COVID-19 pandemic. Now, I would imagine is an incredibly difficult time to break into a commercial kitchen.
I have assisted a few veterans who went on to secure meaningful employment in law enforcement with various three-letter government agencies including the Federal Bureau of Prisons as Correction Officers (COs). Your veteran experience will score big points when it comes to these kind of positions. Are you looking to stay in the Dayton, OH area or open to branching out regionally/nationally?
Happy to help as you deem appropriate. I'm familiar with the application process having assisted a few vets; two went on to become police officers in suburban towns just north of NYC and two became COs at the County prison, also just north of NYC. Feel free to send me a note or answer my inquiries in this thread and we could take it from there!
Best,
Rob
