I am passionate about investing, blockchain/cryptocurrency industry, and financial counseling. What are necessary to enter the profession? And what degree or credential are needed to start? I have a bachelor's in international trade and a master's in sports management. I have been working in the logistics for almost 4 years now. I would like to eventually start a business in the field I mentioned above using my education and work experience. Please advise. Thank you.

Think about Law School. Law School (Juris Doctor degree) will open up doors to opportunities, and careers that you can not imagine. A JD does not mean that you will be restricted to the Practice of Law; A JD is the door to Senior executive management and it will blow away those with only an MBA. I have degrees in engineering and business but my JD did it for me.
Take the LSAT (Law school aptitude test). I understand that there is a free sample on Google. If you do well - follow up on it, if not perhaps another career path is best for you.
Good luck.
I am on the Board of the USD School of Law. contact me if interested.

Hi Jiahui -
I wouldn't say it's a requirement to get a job in quant analysis or a similar field but it wouldn't hurt. A good first start would be to have a general Finance degree or to simply take a few classes related to Finance/quant analysis. There are also CFA and CFA-lite programs out there that could be of help in building your credentials to get your foot in the door. Speaking of getting your foot in the door, at many firms I find that's the key. Find an entry point at a Financial/Mutual Fund firm that allows for upward mobility and growth into these types of roles. For example, many of our quantitative analysis roles here at Vanguard are filled by associates that started out on our trade floors.
Hope this helps!
