In preparation for my 1 November 2020 retirement, I will be participating in the Onward 2 Opportunity program, working on a SPHR certification. Does anyone have experience with this particular program, and if so, can recommend some resources I can start reviewing before starting the program? Thanks!

David SHRM itself has study guides available online for the tests. I would also recommend seeking out a SHRM chapter in your local area and attending some meetings, they as a group always enjoy new blood, but also nothing like peer help to work your way into a career. Your LinkedIn profile needs to let the world know your career is HR. It covers a lot of military even though you reference positions, focus on HR that is how people/companies will find you. Thanks for your service and God Bless. Check out this articles, look at the profiles I reference and also follow Michael Quinn on LI.

There are lots of materials you can purchase to help prepare, if you prefer to study by yourself you might consider these resources https://www.hrci.org/how-to-get-certified/preparation-overview/exam-preparation-resources
The previous comment about group study is a really good idea also. If your learning style is better suited for a study group just do a online search for sphr study group nearby and you should be able to find one.
Good luck!
Certain local universities offer a SHRM study group and possible classes to help prepare for the certification test.
