I am currently a small business owner and am looking to transition to a mortgage loan officer. I am looking for organizations that offer assistance for disabled veterans to take all the courses and test. Right now I have 20 hours of NMLS and 15 hours of state (Utah) specific training, a study course for NMLS test, and the actual test itself. There may be other requirements as well.
I work 60-80 hours a week so the only option is an online option.

Hi David,
I’m not sure if you have already contacted your local VA, but a local Small Business Development Center (https://utahsbdc.org/locations/) might be able to help.
Good Luck, Paul
I'm in HR and don't know what NMLS licensing entails. However, I asked someone at work that has NMLS licensing on his business card. He said that it sounds like you are getting licensed as an individual. He also said that you don't need NMLS licensing to be hired in an NMLS role in an entity. The entity would probably require annual NMLS-related training, as is the case where I work. (I work at one of the very large, national, 'full service' banks.) So, I still don't know what NMLS licensing entails but my colleague was definite that you would be able to get an 'NMLS' role without having that designation. If you'd like, let me know and I'll tell you which bank so you can look at our posting site.
