I am looking to apply for an internship/mentorship/apprenticeship in the lower 48. The Army's CSP Program allows me to shadow an individual and/or receive specialized training at potentially no cost to the employer or educator.

Chris,
Are you currently in Alaska? I have on office in Anchorage and I will be traveling there soon. Maybe we can have coffee and I can offer some insights.

Chris:
The DOD internship transition program is a great opportunity for troops in your situation. https://www.armyreenlistment.com/hiremilitary.html
I have worked with some 11B, 68W, 31B, Flight Warrants, 63B, and Officers from the same series who have applied for and used the program successfully to transition.
The DOD does not maintain a solid list of participants in the program; however, they will evaluate and allow internships that you apply for outside the program to be used for the program.
A search for internships on indeed, Linkedin, ziprecruiter, and other job search aggregators will show listings of paid and nonpaid internships.
Skillbridge, through AKO (or whatever it is called now) offers distance internship opportunities. An SSG (e-06) chaplain assistant I worked with recently used the program to do an internship as a digital media designer. They would give him paid access to adobe lightroom and CS; outlined the projects he was to complete over 6 months; and fully included him on all strategy meetings via zoom. He was paid a proportional rate for what work was and will be used in future media campaigns (he created a grip of filler template content) He's a 40 year old retiree, who now knows how to develop mid-level graphic designs. He did the internship while doing SFLTAP. He now works as an operations manager for rental scooters and oversees the digital marketing department.

will outline the DOD and Army regulations you need to know. If your ETS is in 6 moths, you may be too late. If you have a year left, your are in a good position to apply. Look into USAJOBs for federal internships as well, as they give preference to veterans.
If you have ANY transition or career development questions please feel free to DM me, thank you.
