My cousin just got out of the Air Force, who was in the construction field while in the service. He is struggling to transition into a construction position that allows him to make ends meat and have the chance at a fulfilling career.
Any recommendations for him on his new transition into the civilian sector?
He has submitted a lot of applications, but has not had any luck.
I recommend the use of a non-profit to help with the transition, where we are looking for which non-profit to utilize. He is currently in the Kansas City area at this time.

Sir:
I would recommend having this person look into employment with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; Local contractors that provide construction services; city/state construction inspector positions; employment as a construction project manager for private/government offices; and/or operating as a construction contractor for themselves.
I have has a few colleagues who did engineering and construction work for the service; it can be hard finding comparable employment, as the position they had in the service doesn't really exist for the private sector. An organization usually hires their own contractor managers that handle and keep private contractors on task. The service has the aforementioned position and they do handle contractors; however, the position is rare compared to the number of officer and enlisted engineers.
