I am looking for a Registered Agent that supports photographers in Texas and possibly for a small business loan to get my business started. I'm trying to start this business with a partner and prefer a LLC so my personal assets are protected.

STOP. Do not pass Go! Contact the Texas Veterans Commission at https://www.tvc.texas.gov/entrepreneurs/ to verify your veteran status before forming your LLC in Texas. Don't miss out on the $300 savings and the 5-year waiver on franchise (business) taxes on up to $1 mil in revenues, among other state benefits. If you have not consulted with an attorney AND a tax accountant, you should register and attend the next Boots to Business program to make sure you understand legal entities and whether or not an LLC is right for you. I think highly of the materials published by Nolo Press https://store.nolo.com/products/business-suite
Having a partner might be the right arrangement for you, but I suggest research and visioning for YOU, and then think about meshing with a partner. It's analogous to getting married: marriages tend to work better when each spouse knows him/herself and his/her own aspirations & values.
Hi Ben,
Thanks for reaching out and for your service! I would suggest for you to check out the Community tool and speak to advisors that have opened their own small business in Texas.
Additionally, here are some resources that might be of use for opening your own veteran small business:
1) US Department of Veterans Affairs - https://www.va.gov/osdbu/programs/
2) Business Information for Veterans in Texas - https://www.sos.state.tx.us/corp/veterans.shtml
I hope this helps!
Best,
Molly
