I know the Army has a program where they are able to get released from duty up to 6 months early if they have secured a job offer, I was wondering if there is something similar in the Air Force? I have 4 months and 2 weeks left on my contract, but I have received an official job offer that requires I start in 2 to 3 months. Anything I can do?

Good Morning Sir:
You have to route a DD Form 368 through you chain of command. It would help your cause to go ahead and knock out TAPS and any other clearing items you can do without orders. Ask your personnel office for specifics; however, I used to assist some Airmen doing this to commission into the Army, the process is nebulous and the DOD doesn't make it easy for a reason.
Josh - It was over 20 years ago, but I got an early out from the Air Force. I had done five years in a six-year contract. My reason was to start a college program. And given the fact that the Air Force was overpopulated and forcing separations to many, it was no big deal to grant me the early out. I'm not sure if the Air Force still has too many enlisted folks today. The only thing to do now is to try. Sounds like you have a good reason.
Best of luck.
