Veteran

Mario Wright Fayetteville , NC

I just formed my own company installing solar panel and I wanted to know if you had any information on the requirements for becoming a subcontractor.

You didn't say much about your own licensing, so do check out this info, since solar panel installation is highly regulated: https://www.elementsforgrowth.com/2018/08/17/north-carolina-licensing-requirements-for-rooftop-solar-installations/

Also, I suggest you contact the local community college or SBA/SCORE assistance center regarding legal form of organization, insurance needs, and more.

In terms of acting as a subcontractor, research the larger firms in your industry and see if their websites indicate requirements to be on their sub list.

Solar is a hot field (an old joke, I know) so best wishes to you!
