I'm an independent flood adjuster and love what I do but I'm not comfortable working part of the year and relying on the weather. I want to branch out into Homeowner's, wind&fire, etc.
Does anyone have advice on some IA companies, contacts, licensing or certifications to obtain? I have a few state licenses and certifications but I'm absolutely hungry to grow and expand what I do.
Obtaining a mentor is also something I would be interested in.
Anything would be helpful. Thanks, All!

Tom: I joined the Army because I wanted to help people. It wasn't exactly a 1:1 trade.
What was missing from the army I found in Adjusting. I travel to disaster areas and help homeowners fix their homes. I'm naturally empathetic so the customer service portion comes easily to me.
The best part of the job is exactly what I wanted in a career: an open schedule and pay based on the work rather than based on time. It allows freedom to pursue other things and really live life while being highly fulfilling.
https://ryzeclaims.hirecentric.com/jobs/133925.html - this is an independent contractor position (independent adjuster) for flood insurance. i would travel where needed, perform my duties, and return home to complete my paperwork while maintaining contact with the policy holder until completion.
https://brightclaim.com/careers - Same but located in the Atlanta area. I would work locally or more likely throughout GA.
Adjusting is relatively the same across the board with slight differences between companies and scenarios. I would like to turn this into a more nationwide opportunity, working wind & fire as well as flood, and start home inspections to ensure year-round work.
There are plenty of goal that come later but this is the first few steps, achievable within a few years.
Howdy Eric. Interestingly, I find the commercial insurance on the casualty side quite fascinating and have been in the for 25 years. I have also been partnered with colleagues on the property side as well so I understand your IA activities and the challenges and rewards it posses. Perhaps we can talk about your aspirations further? Send me a message and we can go from there. My background includes working for a few Claim Service Providers such as Travelers and Specialty Risk Services now Sedgwick CMS, to AIG and Zurich, but I found it most rewarding here at Aon (just celebrating 15 years).
If you want to talk further, I can be available to further discuss your interests and perhaps get you some further direction in the industry. Thanks.
