Early out for Job

Veteran

JOHN DOE Tacoma , WA

im currently stationed at JBLM in Washington. I had a quick question in regards to the early out due to me having a job. I have what may seem the hardest part out of the way which is having a promising job offer i have the letter. Its just the other documents i need along with examples. Nobody i go to wants to help me out they all want me to re-enlist but due to personal reasonings i feel like i need to get out.i appreciate it. Take care

You need a contract or direct job offer including a salary/ per hour offer. You will write a letter explaining what you want including what regulation allows you to do that, why you qualify. You need to go to a cap or financial counselor showing you will be able to make enough money to support your family with that new budget. A copy of your ERB, and I think that's most of it. You send it up through s1. It's about normally a 3-4 week process.

Once you get a job acceptance letter you are ready to start building your packet. Once you have you packet put together you need to get your Commander to sign it.

Your packet is going to include:

An updated ERB
A 4187/4187-R
Your Job Acceptance letter
A Transition Memo

Once your commander signs it bring it straight to a copier and make at least 6 copies. Then, and only then, bring your paperwork to S1 and hand them a copy. S1 will check over it and make sure it's good to go. Before you leave you need to get your document # so that you can track it. Now, the fun part. Every other day walk into S1 and ask them about the status of your packet. Find a clerk you know or trust and give them your phone number so they can call you if it gets approved or declined.

Good luck.
