Does anyone have any recommendations for someone who is able to translate military experience and write a well written LinkedIn summary for an affordable price?
I have been on the job hunt for quite awhile now and I am in need of a LinkedIn profile overhaul for starts.

I coach/mentor veterans who are back in school while the figure out what is next as part of Rotary. I see your request often. I do not think what you need is a LinkedIn expert but a vocational expert who can help you with translation. This may help you figure out where you want to go career wise because if you don't know that, your cant sculpt your profile.
Your LinkedIn profile is to paint a picture of how you want to be seen today and not about who you were. From your post, you sound stuck and that's a tough place to be. I also will say, don't begin to think that your LinkedIn profile is a cause for not finding a new job. Yes it needs to be good but you beating the streets will do more.
Hats off to Drew! He's right in that you don't need anyone else to provide a LinkedIn summary. YOU are the expert on YOU. You want to be able to capture the expertise and value you bring to any position from the 30,000 ft. level. No specific details, but all you need is 4 or 5 short sentences or phrases about what you bring to the table. Here's one from my résumé:
"More than 25 years of demonstrated corporate, marketing, technical, scientific, information development, and project management leadership for an impressive portfolio of employers and clients in software development, microprocessor design, software development, and microprocessor design. Knowledgeable, results-oriented, value-add solutions provider with a broad range of portable business, technology, communications, leadership, and management skills to help achieve on-time and within-budget project/business objectives. Author of 70+ technical/professional articles, 600 general-interest articles, and three award-winning non-fiction books."
Nothing about what degrees I have, what my duties were, or what certifications I have...that's in the details further down in the résumé. You can do this!

Ronnie: I will jump into the "not helpful" answer box maybe and say that you risk wasting money on such a service. You're an accomplished guy and could copy some the approaches of some industry examples (e.g. Kristina Evans) in order to dial in the right language. Industry and non-military feedback is key to making sure that you're communicating the intended message, and to ensure that message is on target. These conversations will also be good networking opportunities for you.
I'm sure that there are many people who will do a great job if you pay them, but my idea is that you can probably likewise accomplish it yourself at a lower cost and a greater long-term benefit.
