I have a MS Systems Management (1984) and BS in Marine Trans (1969)
I retired in 1993 as a Navy helo pilot and program manager. I worked in adult education for nine years and with a contractor to Naval Supply, but am finding it difficult to get hired due to
1. Too much/too little experience
2. Too old (age discrimination is real just the smart ones filter for that)
I have taught grad/under grad at nights, but not for the last three years, so currency is an issue in cyber, engineering, and computer sci.

My experience has been, most companies, i.e. UTC, Raytheon, and Honeywell would prefer to hire you on as a contract employee, rather than hiring as a full-up. The former relieves them of benefits...
The next step would be to consider contacting an employment agency; such as Arnold-Hanafin Corp., Kaney Aerospace, Belcan Corp, etc. as these company's have contracts with most companies to supply contract labor. Hope this helps and ditto thank you for your service...
I agree with Deb in the above post. You should try looking at the federal government. My organization hired a 70+ year old Vietnam Vet who hadn't even had any prior federal experience other than his AF service. Read the guidelines on how to create a federal style resume. They look at that, not age.
Dear Mr. Lee:
Thank you for your service our country oversea. Truly that with more sixty years old it's
complicated to find a job. Around the country our veterans have preferences to give a job,
at first in the government agencies, and other institutions that collaborate with this program.
as Walmart company, Amazon, etc.
Good luck!
I would start with USAJOBS.gov. They list most of the federal jobs available, with your awesome experience I bet there is one tailored for you there. I was wondering though, if you would also be a great candidate for several agencies who work with returning vets - like job career centers in most large towns and unemployment offices. Also, University of Phoenix has a program for instructors, as do several other noted universities. They seek personnel with not only education but years of experience in their degrees. Not sure the pay on any of the above but sounds like you are a wealth of knowledge which I hope you are able to share with in a job soon. Thank you for your service, sir!
