Jon Stewart Daily Show Veterans Training Course... How to apply?

Veteran

Jonathan Goldman Brookline , MA

I saw an article on NYTimes.com that referenced a 5 week course for veterans looking to get into the television industry, but offered no contact or website with more information. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jonathan,

No problem at all, I'm happy to help. The program just ended for the spring, so it's unfortunately too late to apply right now. We are hoping that other companies and television shows will follow The Daily Show's example and create their own programs, so we would be happy to keep you in the loop about any similar programs that emerge over the coming months.

What area in particular are you most interested in when it comes to the entertainment sphere? My organization, ACP, also offers a free year-long mentorship program that pairs veterans with their own one-on-one mentor to work on areas such as networking, interview practice, advancing at their current job, etc. For more information about the program, see here: http://acp-usa.org/Mentoring_Program

Best of luck,
Ali

Ali,

Thank you so much for answering this question, and so quickly too. I have to ask, but because we're still in the spring is it too late to apply for this years class? Too late to be put on a wait list? Or would applying for the 2016 class be my only option?

Hi Jonathan,

The Daily Show Immersion Program does not have a formal application. Each year, a few veteran service organizations, including American Corporate Partners (ACP), IAVA and The Mission Continues contact veterans in their programs to get the word out about the program and invite them to apply.

The program is only offered in the spring, but we're happy to keep your contact information on the list of interested participants for when the time comes to apply. I work on the ACP side of the program, so please message me your contact information and I'm happy to keep you updated once the program begins again.

All the best,
Ali
