After nine years Military service I have no recollection of my legal past. I know my record was not one hundred percent clean but it also was nothing bad. I am filling out an application for the Police Academy and do not want to leave the section blank. Most websites charge for your record and the local precinct told me they cannot print out my record. Any and all help is appreciated.

The records they should be concerned about would involve any arrests, in which case the agency who made the arrest has to release a copy to you under their Open Records/Sunshine law, at about $0.10 per page or cost for clerk research time, if there is any charge at all.
Statewide (I'm assuming MO), the charge would be $13.25 at: https://www.machs.mshp.dps.mo.gov/MocchWebInterface/faq.html
If there was not an arrest made, you could list the details you do recall, and approximate date(s) to be completely forthcoming, but it is unlikely that it would have any negative effect on your acceptance to the Police Academy given how much time has passed since then, and your life/service since.
No matter what you provide, they will likely run their own query and compare them, so just be certain not to leave out anything you do recall.
Good luck!
A good link. The link advises to talk to the investigator. Honesty means a lot in the law enforcement field.

Good Luck
I'd go to the police station and see if they can look it up. What do you have to lose?
do you have a record of any chemical dependency? it's hard to tell what you mean when you say you are not aware of your history - do you mean that you do not remember every speeding ticket or do you mean that you do not rememebr if you every served time in jail?
