I'm trying to decide if I should get out of the service? I worry what job I could be qualified for but its hard thinking of what job title it could be. I would like to get out.

Only get out if you know specifically where else you want to be and know you are qualified for that type of position.

I was going to suggest the same, try checking out a military skills calculator. We have the same one (provided by Military.com and powered by Monster.com) specific for jobs offered at Allstate: http://mst.military.com/mst/allstate/mos-translator

Hi Andrew,

Could you share a little bit about your responsibilities and roles in the military? This could help the community of Advisors on the site connect the dots and recommend some civilian roles that could be similar.

I noticed in your profile that you mention various fields that you're interested in. You may want to look into ACP's one-on-one mentoring program for veterans to sort through your options. It's a free program that we offer to post 9/11 vets to help them figure out what they want to do after the military. After applying, ACP handpicks a Mentor for you based on your interests and career goals. You could work with a Mentor to explore your options in the civilian world and figure out which roles you might enjoy.

If you're interested in applying, you'll find the application here: https://apply.acp-usa.org/apply/Protege_Application

Feel free to message me for more information!

Best of luck,
Ali
