Hi Steve,
It's usually a requirement to have a Masters Degree to teach at the college level. You may want to create a mini course and teach at your local adult school. This will give you an opportunity to speak in front of a group, benefit the community and see if you like it. With security and legal issues as such hot topics, you may be able to create a venue and teach in multiple locations and corporations.

Carolyn

Hi Steve,

If you are also interested in teaching from a distance, Universities such as University of Phoenix, WGU, Caldwell may have positions favorable to you. In addition, I would also contact the Continuing Education Dept. of a major University nearby, and see if you can teach a course for them; typically these are non-credit courses meant for existing or potential professional for that area. Yet another option you have is approaching the governing bodies of Law Enforcement Agencies and ask them if you can put together a training portfolio based on their needs; they will typically also provide the space, as well as the administrative support needed.

Good luck to you. Regards, Ravi

Hi Steve,
Please check chronicle.com (Chronicle of Higher Education) and click on "jobs." Many higher education institution post job openings on this website. Also check http://www.higheredjobs.com/. These two websites will post majority of the job openings in academia. I hope this helps. They also have informative and very good articles about job hunting, interviewing, resume preps, etc. Good Luck.

Steve,
petersons.com is a resource to compare academic institutions. It can give you some ideas. If you have a masters the California Community College Registry www.cccregistry.org is their jobs database.
Best,

Hi Steve,

Although this is not my field, the university where I teach, National University, in California, has online and onsite courses in Criminal Justice. You should check out the NU catalog to find who heads the program (it is likely either Jim Larson or Jim Guffey I think). If you have appropriate education and experience you may want to contact either of them about teaching. www.nu.edu. Good luck!
