I also would like to add the power of networking as much as you can as well as trying to approach the employers you know who have positions. Try to schedule and appointment or go to the facility and apply in person. Your chances of getting a interview is much higher. Many thanks for your service! I can understand the frustration, but I do agree with Maria and Cheryl's responses. You need to tailor that résumé for every job you apply for! Let the firm know why they want you. You need to sell your skill sets that align with the job they need. There is no 'blanket' résumé or cover letter any more. I consider the blanket résumé a track record of my profession but it's a reminder for me, not the professional world. Pick and choose from that track record what works for the employer. Thanks for your service! I have recently looked at Resumes for a few friends. I talked to my company's recruiter and HR staff. I was told, keep it short (1 page) if possible and make it unique for the job you are interviewing for.

Also, quantify results you've accomplished, it bodes well for you. It shows the kind of success you've had. I'd be more than willing to look at your resume if you like. Just email it to me.

Finally, what is your "30 second commercial"? Bottom-line, why should an employer select you or someone else? Sometimes it comes down to what you've said in that 30 seconds. Cheryl

Hi Kareem,
It can be frustrating waiting for someone to bite your resume.
That said, you may have to work harder to get the recognition. Things to consider, if you have not done so already:
Does your resume appear like you studied the job description? If you're willing to relocate for the job, did you address that on your cover letter? If you have the specific systems/db as sought by the employer, did you list it? Consider stating your proficiencies w/ all the logistic systems you're familiar - even compare the military systems to the civilian systems. Are you taking any classes relevant to position - list it. On the cover letter, write why you want to join the company...do the research.
It is hard work...but it does pay off.
