I would call up the Human Resources Department in the US Army and ask them. Or ask any local community college or university that serves veterans. I know that in Texas, they are heavily geared towards helping veterans in schools.
Another one to check is Thomas Edison State College in New Jersey. They are an accredited state college but are geared toward military, adult degree completion, etc. You may be able to convert a lot of your experience to credit there then either transfer them somewhere or complete a degree through TESC online. http://www.tesc.edu/
Hi Roy,
I actually work at a community college as a Veteran Services Specialist. In case you weren't aware, you can get a copy of your military transcript from
https://jst.doded.mil/smart/dodMandatoryBannerForm/submit.do
You'll have to right click to go to the page.
You set up a quick account and you can receive an unofficial copy. At my school I turn it into the registrar's office and they submit the transcripts to the students academic file. I would imagine other schools would do this.
Hope this helps.
Good morning, if you go to your education office they should have a listing of Military friendly colleges, typically these schools are more generous with the credits that they will honor for your military experience. I found Excelsior to be a good program when it comes tohonoring credits for military experience. www.excelsior.edu/. However this is an on-line program and may not interest you. Good luck

Hello Roy,
Your best bet is to reach out to the collge you are looking to attend to see if they take work experience as college credit. I believe Wilkes University does this or is planning on doing it.
You can take the college credits you earned in the service and have them evlauated by the college you want to attend to see how they transfer. Alas, then I sent them my credits, most became electives for PE but it counted for a semester toward my degree so that was nice; got me out of undergraduate quicker.
Each college is different. Here is a place to get you stated: http://www.military.com/education/timesaving-programs/college-credit-for-military-experience.html
