Hello Beverly,
Purpose: Veterans join the military and the first day of basic training, they get a new purpose in life. Illustrating the purpose of the company and how their job fits into accomplishing it will give them a sense of belonging.
A mentor: A non-veteran employee who has 10-15 years in the company and has a bit of seniority. This will allows the veteran to see how their career can progress. This will also allow the veteran to share how their military skill set translates to the their new job.
Prior service groups: This will allow them to connect to other veterans and gain perspective on how they used their military skills to traverse the corporation. It also allows them to swap stories and gives a sense of belonging.
Everything else can be taught.

Thanks Juliana, I appreciate your input. Do you think that a mentor would help? if you can think f anything else please let me know
Definitely classes on what you spoke of. Insurance, dental, medical. I recently separated from the military and now have all these choices. I never had a choice before, it was all done for me. Due to my age everyone assumed I knew what they were talking about..it was horrible. Some classes or aid in filling out forms and how to decide on what to go with. I think its great you are looking into this. I wish I would have had some help with it.
Thanks Phil, but that isn't what I ment. For example I spoke to a vet who said they needed help fillig out the insurance forms, becuase as you know we don't have a choice in the military . So when he got to the civillian said it was confusing for him. so I am looking for thoughts on things that you as a vet would need a company to do for you to help you trnsition.
Beverley,
Getting a useful college degree is what I would recommend.
