About Ed
I spent 20 years in the US Navy retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Office in 2000. The final 14 years of my career I was a P3 Orion Flight Engineer. I was a Flight Engineer Instructor and spent 3 years working as a full time Flight / Classroom instructor at a Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS).
It was during my time at the FRS I developed a passion for training. I spent time in fleet squadrons as well as on the staff of CPRFP in roles that focused on training, development, & readiness. I was able to take this passion for teaching and land my first job as a technical instructor for an Enterprise Software Company - Remedy, right when I retired. I eventually moved into management and am now the Delivery Director, Education Services for Splunk, a big data analytics company.
I believe one of the keys to my initial hiring was creating a resume that was "demilitarized". What I mean by this is that I used terms in my resume that potential hiring managers would be able to relate to.
