What is a Virtual Assistant? We are small business owners who provide administrative, or other highly specialized services, to clients from our home office. Working from home is great. Plain and simple. The flexibility it offers, in conjunction with being a small business owner, far outweigh the challenges, which can include self management, loneliness and boundaries. I've been doing this since 2006 and I'll never look back :)
In addition, I am a big believer in giving back in any way that I can help - volunteering, pro bono work, and mentoring. I've been a mentor with our local SCORE chapter here in Vermont [http://champlainvalley.score.org] for over a year. In addition, I own/moderate a community for Virtual Assistants offering support, answering questions, and helping those interested in becoming a virtual assistant.
