About Colin

I grew up in Virginia approximately 50 miles west of Washington, DC. In 2007 I enrolled at Virginia Military Institute with a scholarship to play Division I baseball. In the spring of 2010 I relinquished my athletic scholarship to study abroad in Amman, Jordan. I lived with a Jordanian host family for five months, traveled throughout Jordan, Syria and Turkey and expanded upon my Arabic language and cultural knowledge. My Arabic language background helped me communicate with Yemeni fishermen to determine the locations of Somali pirates during my 2011 naval deployment. Outside of the Middle East the majority of my naval deployments have been in East Asia where I was exposed to the major Asian financial capitals like Seoul, Singapore and Hong Kong. My observations of American businesses abroad sparked my interest to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Georgetown University. Concurrent to my MBA I will also pursue a Masters degree in Foreign Service at Georgetown University to better understand the political risks to corporations in developing countries as a management consultant. Outside of work and school I am a volunteer coach for Special Olympics and at the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy.
