About Sarah
I worked in the advertising field for over 20 years as an account executive and copywriter. I began a freelance writing career in 2001 that led to employment at a local newspaper, writing and publishing a book of short stories and a novel, and finally 10 years as a college English Department writing tutor. I have mentored adult students through college into careers and am currently mentoring a retired Army sergeant in the process of writing his memoirs. My novel, Twenty-One Steps of Courage focused on a young Army enlistee who became a guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns despite having lost a leg in Afghanistan. I was also an invited lecturer to a group of former military personnel writers. My objective in joining your group is to help veterans "translate" their skills expressed in military jargon into easy-to-understand business language.
