About Ed
I've been with Raytheon for over 16 years and I am currently the Airborne Electro-Optical and Lasers product line leader since 2016. Raytheon Company, with 2011 sales of $25 billion, is a technology and innovation leader specializing in defense, homeland security and other government markets throughout the world. With headquarters in Waltham, Mass., Raytheon employs 71,000 people worldwide.
Previously I have had the opportunity to lead several manufacturing and development product teams such as Airborne Electro-Optical sensors, Lasers, Targeting FLIRs, Radars and Space products. I have also lead corporate initiatives like CMMI Maturity level assessments, product line transitions from site to site across the country and Disaster Recovery efforts.
I have also worked for other Aerospace and Defense companies as well as commercial electronics manufacturing firms such as TRW’s Space and Electronics Group in Redondo Beach, California, Alice Springs, Australia and at Entertainment Systems Technology a start-up company manufacturing hand held wireless devices for both gaming and medical applications.
I was formerly a US Navy enlisted sailor from 1990-1994 where I served as an operations specialist 2nd class and a Surface Rescue Swimmer on board a Spruance class destroyer and Tarawa class LHA. I was awarded the US Navy Achievement Medal for my rescue of a downed UH1 Huey during a medical evacuation off the coast of Camp Pendleton. I was also stationed In Yokosuka, Japan and San Diego where I was deployed on 2 West PACs during the 1st Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield and Operation Restore Hope in Somalia.
I am currently the Vice President of West Region's Employee Resource Group for Veterans "RAYVETS" and also a standing member of the Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems giving board. Other professional affiliations include the Raytheon Management Club, Electronics Technician Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the United Services Organization (USO).
I credit my military service for the drive and discipline with achieving my bachelor’s degree in Technical Management from DeVry University and successfully navigating the corporate markets in advance technologies and operations excellence.
