About Matt

I'm a Consultant working for EY-Parthenon in Chicago, specializing in Transaction Strategy and Execution. I served as an active duty Marine Officer for 7 years, departing to pursue my MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. I can assist transitioning veterans who are considering graduate education as well as those recruiting for management consulting, investment banking, and other business roles following their transition out of the military.

I'm originally from the west suburbs of Chicago and I received my BA in Political Science from the University of Illinois in 2011, joining the Marine Corps in the same year via NROTC.

On active duty, I was an Assault Amphibian Officer, and deployed to the Far East to take part in humanitarian operations in the Philippines and mechanized training in Japan. On my second deployment, I was one of the first 300 Marines to re-insert into Iraq and managed our Combat Operations Center. I spent my last tour at MCRD San Diego where I served as the G-3 Current Ops Officer and as a Series Commander, supervising teams of 18 Drill Instructors and classes of up to 275 recruits. I departed active duty in October 2018. I was part of the Reserves from June 2020 to August 2021 and can speak to the very different world of the SMCR.

At the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, I served as Co-Chair of the Armed Forces Group and was an active member of the Management Consulting Group and the Wine Club. I was selected for the Strategy Lab, conducting a strategy consulting engagement while coached by consultants from Kearny. I graduated in 2020 with concentrations in Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, Finance, and Accounting.

I interned as a Summer Associate with EY-Parthenon in 2019 and accepted a full-time position as a Consultant with their Transaction Strategy & Execution Practice in Chicago beginning summer 2020. I've since been involved with buy-side diligence and integration activities as well as sell-side project management.

I've been married to my wife Jorden since June 2017 and live in Chicago with our daughter.
