About Jennifer
I served as an Aviation Machinist Mate in the USN for 4 years and 11 months at HSL/M-37 at the Marine Corp Base in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. I transitioned out of the military in December 2014 and stayed in Hawaii to pursue my Bachelors degree in Communication Studies. I graduated from Hawaii Pacific University in December 2016 and moved to the Cleveland, Ohio area in January. I started working as a grant writer for a state-wide non-profit organization in May 2017 and was promoted to Manager of Foundation and Corporate Relations within a year. In January 2019, I was offered a consultant position for a local fundraising firm where I provided proposal development and grant strategy services to a portfolio of non-profit organizations throughout the US.
Just as I was settling into that career path, I received the opportunity to launch an Energy Efficiency division for a veteran owned small business to bring an advanced energy storage unit to the market, which directly aligns with my passion for science and project management! I am currently seeking a mentor who can provide valuable insight, resources/tools and guidance as I head into this next chapter of my career.
In my free time, my husband and I like to go cycling, take our dog on long walks, and tote the cat around in a fancy cat backpack. As a registered yoga teacher, I also dedicate time for my yoga practice on a regular basis and my sequences are usually set to a quirky playlist that I have created on Spotify. As much as I enjoy being in nature and being active, I equally love being at home cuddled up on the couch watching (binging) a "must see" show or reading the latest New York Time bestsellers (all genres).
