In 1986 Mr. Clark graduated cum laude with a degree in Physic and Mathematics from Rice University. Following an MBA from Stanford University, Mike began his business career as VP Commercial Development of SI Diamond Technologies Inc, a developer of revolutionary thin-film diamond technology as the cathode for novel flat-screen displays.
An entrepreneur at heart, shortly after SIDT became a publicly traded company, Mike founded Interflote-USA as a supplier of equipment and expertise to the energy industries of the newly-independent Russian Federation and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Focused for more than 18 years on the introduction and expansion of new standards, equipment, and modern and innovative technologies for industrial and fire safety, Interflote has now expanded beyond its original markets into Libya, Algeria Tunisia, and Morocco.
As a full-service agent, Interflote offers its partners turn-key installation including equipment, consumables, and replacement parts, engineering, warranty, and commissioning; training of the customers' workforce; logistics; customs clearance; intermediate financing; complete local sales and marketing; and more. In addition, Interflote provides defense against competitors and critical understanding of the political climate and vested interest hierarchies in complex offshore constituencies.
At home, Mike is involved in the community with the Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Houston, the Houston Symphony as a Governing Director, and with the Moore's Opera House of the University of Houston. Mike is also actively working towards strengthening the relationships between the USA and the Arab World through his active membership in the Bilateral US-Arab Chamber of Commerce.
