About Laura
I have a BS in Quality Engineering from California State University of Long Beach and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the University of Southern California.
Having worked in Quality Engineering for 5 years at Mattel, wanted to move over to marketing and felt that the best way to make the transition was to have an MBA. The technical background and hands-on work experience coupled with the marketing skills has allowed me to work in the product development area bringing new products to market.
I've launched consumer products with very short development timelines and strict financial targets, launched new products into new segments with high profitability, and more recently, been working to assess business development opportunities and create strategies for our portfolio of products.
Currently, I lead a global team of associates and have been building our function in the organization. This has required me to lean on and further develop my collaboration, leadership, and strategic skills.
I tend to be a highly creative thinker, able to process multiple facets of an issue rapidly focusing on achieving positive outcomes.
As expected, I'm also a high energy person. Along with my full-time job, I strive to maintain a balance between my work commitments and my family/personal commitments. I run half and full marathons throughout the year and try to encourage those around me to embrace activity as part of their life. I am married with two kids that are active bike riders and compete at a national level in the sport.
