About Joshua
Brief Military History:
I am a Army Reserve 68W Combat Medic of 19 years of service. I am currently with the 4th Expeditionary Sustainment Command at Fort Sam Houston, Texas assigned as the Surgeon Section Medical Readiness NCO. I have deployed to Iraq and have been on several joint support operations to Guam, Samoa, Korea, Japan, Alaska, and Germany. The majority of my military career has been in medical operations, management, and logistics. For 10 years I lived in Hawaii and was mobilized on active duty 3 times with the Wounded Warrior Unit, The 548th Transportation Detachment, and as the Tripler Pediatric Outpatient Department NCOIC. I moved to San Antonio Texas in 2013 to be closer to my two boys when their step dad got orders assigning to Fort Sam.
Passions:
I recently got awarded custody of my two boys ages 12 and 14, and they are my main passion in life. I am a minor tech geek and am pursuing getting my certifications in Oracle and Cisco Technologies. I have read and heard that San Antonio is the 8th fastest growing city in the US right now due to IT, oil, and medical and moved to San Antonio in hopes of pursuing a career in any one od those fields.
Education:
I have a Bachelors in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and started my MBA which I will finish in 2015. I am trying to get out of straight medical fields and am attempting to do jobs in other areas related to HR or management. My civilian career up till 2013 has been primarily in the healthcare field and have gained additional experience in the staffing industry and sales and marketing over the past year through company trainings and seminars.
Assistance:
I am seeking assistance in finding a job that is not contract or commissioned based. I have had several opportunities made available except for the fact that I did not qualify because I was still active in the reserves and was told that I needed to be available 24/7, 7 days a week or someone who can commit 100%.
