About Michael

My name is Michael Valero, and I served as part of the world's strongest navy force, The United States Navy. I'll admit, initially, I came into the service for mercenary reasons - money. I was hard up in my luck and with the 2008 financial catastrophes taking place, there was little chance for me to attain or retain any kind of job for long. The Navy was my last resort. Over time, I came to like my job - I was a CTT (Cryptologic Technician Technical) working the area of war ship defensive systems - I was more specifically not only an operator for a specialized military grade equipment system, but also it's electronics technician. I made sure my equipment was always at 100% readiness. Through my job, I learned about troubleshooting and analyzing problems at both the most complicated and in the most simplistic levels, and excelled in meticulous deconstructionist deductive reasoning and analysis with just using minimal information on a technical problem. I loved my job. Now, because the Navy's need to lighten man power, I was not allowed to re-enlist. And so, here I am. But being a technician was never my only talent. In truth, I'm an artisan and impassioned observer of aesthetic beauty in both in science, math, and in the synthetic architecture of human imagination. I've taken a beginner's art history class, and have taken rudimentary art classes. I've been talented on my own in drawing as long as I can remember, and was voted as most artistic in throughout elementary, junior high, and high school. And because of this, I may want to pursue in the avenue where I can utilize my inherent talents with whatever technical expertise I do have. I took Transition GPS, the military's transition assistance program course for those of us heading in the way of civilian life. In it, I took an assessment test on what I'm good at. Two things that stuck out to me was not only computer engineering, or technical writing, but also video game design. And that caught my eye more than anything else. And now I'm just thinking that I should just finally go pursue that. I currently hold an Associate Degree in Mathematics from San Bernardino Valley College, and only hold a 93 ASVAB score. Never took the SAT or ACT in my life yet, but the practice variant SAT showed I had an extremely large vocabulary and a knack for science, and an understanding of history when I was in high school. I write stories on my spare time and draw them out, when I'm not playing some video game on my iphone on my downtime.
