I enlisted right out of high school to pursue an actual skill to use in the real world and get some life experience under my belt. I was trained as a Nuclear Electricians Mate at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command in Goose Creek, SC and ultimately reported to the aircraft carrier, USS Harry S. Truman. I served there as a maintenance technician for 3 years before separating from the Navy in early November 2015. I intend to take the training and experience I have with electrical maintenance and apply them to a similar job in the civilian world.
