About Charles
Commander, US Navy, Supply Corps Officer, Available 1 Sep 2018, ChuckNeu@gmail.com.
I will complete a successful 20-plus year career in the Navy in September, 2018. I enlisted at the age of 18 and soon found out that I enjoyed, and could thrive in, complex and dynamic environments. I worked my way up the ranks from Seaman Recruit to Commander. My last two jobs were very demanding assignments. In Japan I managed a workforce of approximately 110, many of which were Japanese nationals, in support of the Navy's shipyard and intermediate maintenance facility. We performed all aspects of logistics support for the repair of forward deployed Navy ships and submarines including support of 77 maintenance availabilities, the execution of a $35M annual budget, warehousing, distribution, and other core logistics and project management functions. This job culminated with Operation TOMODACHI, the support to Japan after a 9.2 earthquake and resultant tsunami.
I then transferred to Tampa, Florida in support of Special Operations Forces - an even more demanding customer than the engineers I supported in Japan. My most recent project was developing Logistics solutions for remote forward operating bases in areas of active armed conflict. The project involved site visits and design, arranging for higher-echelon funding, leveraging multi-national support agreements, expediting and supply chain management, and a lot of ingenuity. These efforts resulted in successful combat operations that continue today.
I enjoy demanding complex environments. I understand the value of team building, effective communications, good customer support and consider myself a servant leader.
I am interested in being a successful small business owner in Tampa, Florida where my leadership, team building, and customer focus can be best utilized.
