About Patrick

I am a Marine Corps combat veteran who works in higher education. Specifically, I work in veteran services and have experience in the public and private non-profit sectors.

I started out working as a VA work-study for a public institution, then worked my way to an academic advisor and then finally the veteran resource center coordinator. I then moved to a private non-profit as the veteran services coordinator.

My work is primarily transition assistance. I do outreach, but because I work for an upper division and graduate school, I do very little with veterans transitioning directly from active duty. I also do a fair amount of career support, mostly in the form of resume review and skill translation. As a combat veteran and English major, I know that you need to market your skills and abilities that your education and experience has taught you, not simply sell your history as a representation of yourself.

I am currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Management with a concentration in HR Management from a prestigious business school in southeast Michigan.
